Med Surg RN Job in Fort Wayne, IN

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 24-bed medical-surgical unit at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, caring for patients with high acuity and complex needs.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (72 guaranteed hours bi-weekly)
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Maximum 1 week requested time off per assignment
• Voluntary call opportunities available

Your Role

You will manage a patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1 and provide nursing care for patients with stroke, seizures, post-operative neuro and spinal surgeries, level 2 trauma, and level 1 trauma post-ICU. You will also manage patients with DKA, renal failure, and general post-operative conditions. Your responsibilities include neuro assessments, drain management, chest tube care, groin site management post-IR procedures, and post-surgical nursing. Floating to other units is required.

Requirements

• RN degree
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Expertise in neuro assessments and critical thinking skills
• Experience with drain management and post-surgical care
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR system
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Navy scrubs are required. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 25, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.
