Opportunity:

Certified Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• Work 5 days per week on 8-hour shifts
• 1-2 weekend call shifts (24 hours) per schedule required
• 1-2 on-call nights per week required
• Float to other departments as needed
• Perform a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients
• Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique
• Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite
• Position patients according to the type of surgery
• Identify and care for biological specimens
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case
• Perform all processes related to the delivery of direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during surgical procedures
• Proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas including but not limited to: Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, and Robotics (highly preferred)
• Establish and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments and sutures to the physician, and assist as directed
• Use physician preference cards as a starting point when pulling cases and setting up the OR
• Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices
• Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and personal safety
• Maintain proper traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies and procedures
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required
