Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 1:4 patient ratio on 32-bed Oncology Acute Tele unit
• At least 1 weekend per month required with 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holiday work integrated into rotation based on unit coverage needs
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Chemo certification preferred
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Charge nurse responsibilities with light patient assignment as Oncology resource RN
• Float to other Med Surg/Tele units as needed
• 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Care for 85% oncology patients and 15% telemetry med-surg patients
• Work with Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry equipment
• Interpret EKGs and manage patients with BiPAP/CPAP ventilation
• Navy scrubs required
• Must have natural hair color with no facial piercings
• Male candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
