Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts with 1:6 patient ratios
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract duration
• 36 hours of unit orientation required
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with 1 year direct Med/Surg experience required
• Must have previous travel experience - first-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS
• ACLS preferred but not required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Navy scrubs required
• Floating required to other MS/Tele areas including possible COVID care units
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Care for stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas
• Work with 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Daily census of approximately 50 patients
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, neuro experience
• Use PYXIS, Epic, and SBAR systems
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week per fatigue policy
• Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start
