Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (goal ratio is 4:1, mostly 5:1)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Virginia State or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Experience required in Tele, PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administration of cardiac drips without titration (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix)
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Competency in chest tubes, trach care, PICC line management
• Respiratory skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, CPAP, BiPAP
• Floating required within skillset to other PCUs and potentially medical-surgical units
• Care for acutely and chronically ill adults with complex medical diagnoses
• May work without CNA support at times
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• First-time travelers accepted
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
