Emergency Department RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Join Carlsbad Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This 13-week travel assignment offers you the opportunity to deliver direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma center while expanding your clinical expertise.

• Shift & Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Maximum one RTO per 6-week schedule. You are required to work one summer and one winter holiday based on department needs.
• Patient Care: Manage a 4:1 patient ratio in the Emergency Department. Provide comprehensive emergency care using the nursing process, perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient responses. Communicate findings effectively and apply critical thinking to clinical decisions.
• Responsibilities: Float between departments as needed. Delegate care priorities and supervise assigned personnel. Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education. No call responsibilities.
• Requirements: Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience. Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC. NRP certification preferred. New Mexico state fingerprinting required for all travelers.
• Work Environment: MedHost (EDIS) electronic medical record system. Dress code: any color full uniform—no t-shirts, hoodies, or graphic tees; undershirts permitted under scrub tops only.
• Assignment Details: 91-day assignment starting July 6, 2026. Provide minimum 2 hours notice for call-outs.
