Anesthesia Technician Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician for an 8-hour evening shift position. You will work from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM and support the anesthesia team in the perioperative environment. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026.

Your responsibilities include:

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival, ensuring all supplies are clean and readily available
• Place anesthesia monitors and communicate continuously with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and other anesthesia personnel
• Assist with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters
• Operate cell-saver machines and track lab reports during advanced surgical cases, including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma procedures
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure anesthesia equipment is in proper working order
• Set up and operate sophisticated equipment, including infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors
• Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues as they arise
• Set up and break down operating rooms between cases and at end of shift
• Provide backup support to the shift supervisor during absences
• Assist in development and implementation of in-service training programs for staff
• Provide on-call coverage as needed

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred

You will work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed. Weekly pay is $1,315.60.
