About this role

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a fast-paced medical-surgical inpatient unit at Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting July 27, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). You'll earn $2,021.76 weekly.

Schedule & Requirements

  • Every other weekend required
  • Block scheduling shifts grouped together when available, though not guaranteed
  • Floating to other units expected at times—confirmation required before final signature
  • Holiday rotation: work one of two holidays or two of three holidays in your assignment
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible

Experience & Credentials

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Previous surgical experience required
  • Charge experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • Meditech charting experience preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted

Patient Care

  • Patient ratio: 6:1 (days, nights, and weekends)
  • Pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above accepted depending on procedure
  • Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Diagnoses include general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery

Clinical Skills & Competencies

  • Blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management
  • Colostomy/ileostomy care, heparin and insulin administration
  • Isolation precautions and PPE
  • Telemetry remote monitoring, wound care and wound vac management
  • PICC line and peripheral line management, phlebotomy
  • PCA pump management, total joint replacement care
  • Continuous bladder irrigation and additional specialized skills

Support Services

You'll have access to interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services.
