GI Lab RN Job in Alexandria, VA

Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking an RN for our GI Lab in Alexandria, VA. This is a travel assignment running 76 weeks, beginning October 12, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• Shift: 5x8 nights
• Weekly pay: $2,421
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Monday through Friday core schedule with weekends covered by call rotation
• Weekday on-call begins at end of scheduled shift and runs until 7:00 AM, approximately 3 to 4 times per week
• Weekend and holiday on-call coverage in 24-hour blocks (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM), approximately 4 weekends per 6-week rotation

Role Responsibilities

• Perform 10 to 20 procedures per day (75% outpatient, 25% inpatient)
• Assist with Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) procedures 3 times per week, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op support
• Float to pre-op on days without GI cases or when overstaffed
• Demonstrate strong IV skills
• Work with EMR systems including EPIC and Provation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy RN experience
• BLS (AHA only) and ACLS certifications required
• PALS preferred
• Must pass ECG competency exam on Day 1 (pass/fail, one attempt)
• Comfort with on-call requirements
