PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Details:

• Work under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist providing home health physical therapy services
• Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by physician following patient plan of care
• Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means
• Direct patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training
• Assist with activities of daily living including transfer activities and prosthetic training
• Utilize equipment such as ultra-violet and infrared lamps, low voltage generation, diathermy and ultrasonic machines
• Observe, record, and report patient reactions to treatment and changes in condition
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques and activities
• Complete accurate and relevant clinical notes and required documentation in timely manner
• Must be licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Vermont and New Hampshire or hold compact license
• Graduate of accredited Physical Therapy Assistant school required
• One year of experience as PTA in home health care setting preferred
