Phlebotomist - Phlebotomist / Laboratory

Job Details:

• Perform Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) duties including collecting blood specimens for a variety of laboratory tests using age-appropriate techniques
• Handle and transport laboratory specimens and provide post-phlebotomy care to patients
• Work with patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Shifts available starting at 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM, or 1:30 PM with 12-hour or 4.5-hour shift options
• Work every weekend with 2 consecutive days off during the week
• Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience required
• Must have successfully completed a prior travel assignment
• California CPT 1 license required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Required skills include: aseptic technique, blood cultures, venipuncture, heel stick, finger stick, centrifuge operation, specimen processing and storage, proper labeling, standard and transmission-based precautions, and data entry
• Must be able to prioritize patient collections based on order type (STAT, timed, routine)
• Must be able to identify and respond to emergency situations
