RN - Peds

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:4 required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care
• Care for patients in an additional 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU) providing postoperative care for patients requiring overnight observation or extended recovery up to 23 hours
• Provide comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care
• Perform ongoing assessments, manage pain and recovery, provide patient and family education, and coordinate safe discharge planning
• Care for pediatric patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Required clinical skills include: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, accessing/managing ports, airway assessment, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, malignant hyperthermia protocol, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), procedural sedation administration/monitoring, PICC line care and management, placement of oral/nasal airways, and pre/post operative procedures
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Self-scheduling unit
• Travelers must float within scope of practice as needed
• 50-mile radius rule applies to this unit
