Occupational Therapist Job in Kapaa, HI

Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment in Kapaa, Hawaii. You will work 5x8 days at $2,774 weekly, starting July 20, 2026.

Your Role:

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments focused on Activities of Daily Living (ADL) for both inpatients and outpatients
• Assess patient strengths, range of motion (ROM), and functional capabilities to establish baseline functioning
• Develop and implement written occupational therapy treatment plans under physician referral
• Conduct therapeutic activities including sensory integration, orthotics fitting, psychosocial functioning, and upper extremity motor functioning
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation for all services rendered
• Provide patient and family education on occupational therapy recommendations and techniques
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate follow-up with community agencies
• Supervise the use and maintenance of occupational therapy equipment and tools

Additional Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-service training for hospital staff and participate in continuing education programs
• Attend mandatory training sessions, committee meetings, and emergency drills
• May be required to transport patients in the hospital van when necessary
• Holiday pay is provided based on hours worked on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day

Requirements:

• Valid Hawaii Physical Therapy license required upon hire
