Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12 AM shifts (days)
• Weekend coverage required - 6 shifts in 6 weeks, every other weekend
• Self-scheduling unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment prior to being considered
• Adult MS/Tele unit only - travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, PCA pump management, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes: patient lifts (ceiling and portable), PCA pump, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Common patient diagnoses include: diabetes, congestive heart failure, infection, sepsis, COPD, general surgery cases, sickle cell crisis, GI bleed, and diverticulitis
• Unit supports a large orthopedic program including total joints, colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery
