RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Night shift position in a Medical Surgical unit
• Develop individualized plans of care for patients by interviewing patients and family members, reviewing health records, and determining required health and physical care including discharge planning
• Initiate appropriate emergency measures when physician is not immediately available, including resuscitative measures in cases of cardiac or respiratory arrest
• Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by physicians including medications, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, and mechanical ventilation
• Plan, provide, and document patient and family education on preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures
• Record observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines
• Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and update plan of care accordingly
• Provide technical guidance, delegation, and direction to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and unlicensed personnel
• Assume oversight for patient care administered by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel
• Maintain adequate supplies, equipment, and general upkeep of the unit while preserving a safe environment
• Must be able to work with pediatric patients
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• Oklahoma or Compact RN License required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Attire: Navy Blue Scrubs
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
