Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Night shift position
• 36 or 48 hours guaranteed per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float between sections within the department on occasion
• Minimum 4 years of experience required; candidates with 2+ years of experience will be considered
• RRT certification and BLS required
• ACLS required
• ACCS preferred
• Virginia state license required; candidates with pending VA license may submit provided they can obtain a temporary license before start date and must hold another state license to be eligible for the temporary license
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills required
• Must be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment and working at the top of licensure
• Serve adult and geriatric patient populations
• Skills include adult critical care, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), mechanical ventilation weaning, intubation assist, extubation, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care and management, arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation, nitric oxide, inhaled Flolan, patient transport, and pulmonary hygiene among others
• Service teams include Surgical/Neuro, Heart and Vascular, Medical, and Unit Rotation
