Cytotechnologist Job in Huntington, WV

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Cytotechnologist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work Monday through Friday on day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with no weekend requirement.

About the Role

You will perform microscopic evaluation and screening of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens using ThinPrep and related methodologies. Your responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and process cytology specimens with precision and attention to detail
• Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures and Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) when applicable
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
• Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, and handling
• Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory staff, and healthcare providers to support timely and accurate diagnoses
• Maintain compliance with laboratory accreditation and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Cytotechnologist experience
• ASCP and ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certifications required
• ThinPrep Imager certification required
• Community hospital experience required

Preferred Experience

• Ascitic, gastric, esophageal, spinal, respiratory, and urinary cytology specimens
• Flow cytometry, FISH testing, special stains, and ancillary testing
• Cerner charting system
