Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Independently administer a variety of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections (chemo, hormonal, and non-chemo/hormonal) in accordance with provider orders
• Access port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters
• Perform venipuncture, PICC and Hickman dressings, and labs via ports, PICCs, and Hickman catheters
• Provide appropriate clinical care for all assigned patients
• Maintain accurate, concise, and complete records of patient conditions, treatments, medications, and responses to treatment
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of all intravenous therapies and patient responses to treatment
• Notify the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of unusual occurrences and initiate appropriate emergency action when necessary
• Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding medications, treatments, expected responses and side effects, disease process, nutrition, activity, and physical adjustments related to disease process or treatment
• Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs and proper usage of PPE
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with all policies and procedures
• Must be proficient in Epic EMR
• Work within an 18 semi-private bay unit
