ICU RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for our intensive care unit. You will work 3 days per week on the night shift, with 12-hour shifts, on an every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday schedule. July 3rd and 4th coverage is required. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,342.34.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care nursing services in the intensive care unit setting
• Monitor and assess critically ill patients requiring continuous observation
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and interventions
• Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions when necessary

You will care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions who require constant monitoring and skilled intervention. Your role is essential in supporting patient recovery and stabilization during their most critical moments. You will work alongside physicians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to coordinate care and ensure the best outcomes for your patients. Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for success in this role.
