PACU Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing, a Level I Trauma Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting July 6, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12 hour night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday
• 40 guaranteed hours per week with 40-hour orientation
• 24 hours of call required per 6-week period as needed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off allowed
• Pre-op patient preparation from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM when no PACU patients are present

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage 1:2 patient ratio
• Care for post-operative patients recovering from general anesthesia
• Manage complicated postoperative patients with multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation
• Care for surgical patients including GU, GYN, Colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, Bariatric, and some ENT cases
• Float within service line to meet facility needs

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of PACU and critical care experience
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BLS, ACLS certifications
• Vents, IV start, Telemetry, and Critical Care certifications
• Pass Relias EKG exam with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Navy scrubs required
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,086.82
