OR Registered Nurse Job in Wheeling, WV

WVU Wheeling Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room. You will provide preoperative and perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment handling 55–70 cases daily across 15 suites. This position includes same-day procedures and overnight stays.

Schedule & Shift Details

• 4x10 rotating shifts per week (four 10-hour days)
• Day shift options: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required; rotating 8-hour weekend shifts 7:00 AM–3:00 PM on Saturday or Sunday
• On-call schedule: 1–2 second calls per month with 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational needs

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver preoperative care; scrubbing not required
• Float to OR holding area as needed
• Perform strong IV insertion and surgical nursing care
• Work with Allscripts charting system (transitioning to EPIC in April)

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• BLS certification (required)
• Robotics experience required
• Strong IV skills and surgical care knowledge
• Must reside within 50-mile radius of facility
• Valid, unexpired driver's license
