Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required with cardiothoracic experience mandatory
• Active PA or Compact nursing license required
• Travel experience required
• Required certification: BLS (AHA only)
• Heart team typically works 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday
• If scheduled for a 7:00 AM heart case, clock in at 5:45 AM and clock out at 2:15 PM
• If scheduled for an 8:15 AM heart case, clock in at 6:40 AM and clock out at 3:10 PM
• Weekday call required 1 to 2 times per week from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM the following day
• Weekend call required 1 to 2 weekends per 6-week schedule, running from Saturday at 7:00 AM to Monday at 7:00 AM
• Must live within 30 to 40 minutes of the facility to be eligible for call
• Schedules are done 6 weeks at a time
• When scheduled for a 7:00 AM heart room, typically clock in by 5:40 AM and are relieved after 8 hours unless on call with cases still running
• When no heart case is scheduled, expected to perform other OR cases including General, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Vascular, Robotics, and Cystoscopy
• Additional duties when not in a case include picking cases, stocking rooms, and giving breaks and lunches
• Call is split between 4 RNs
• Must be comfortable with a wide range of surgical procedures including CABG, CVOR, TAVR, MAZE Procedure, mitral valve replacement, VATS, IABP, and robotic surgery
• Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cerner experience preferred
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 10 operating rooms available
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more
