Job Details:

• Work on a Stroke and Neurology floor that also treats orthopedic and spine patients
• Patient ratios of 3:1 for stroke/designated patients and 5:1 for all other patients
• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification are both preferred
• May be required to precept and work in the virtual room
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and observe physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
