Respiratory Therapist Job in Akron, OH

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 55-week travel assignment at Akron Campus in Akron, Ohio. This is a full-time position working 3x12 night shifts in an all-adult, acute care Level 1 Trauma Center environment.

About the Role

You will assess, evaluate, document, and monitor patients for tolerance and response to respiratory therapy. Your responsibilities include confirming physician orders, explaining treatment procedures to patients, and notifying physicians and nursing staff of any unusual patient reactions. You will perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures per department protocol, respond to emergencies including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and maintain all equipment while administering medical gases and medications.

Key Duties

• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60 noninvasive ventilator, Epoc hand-held analyzer, and ParaPac Plus transport ventilator
• Assess appropriateness of physician orders to ensure quality patient care
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff
• Assist with stocking supplies and drugs
• Complete appropriate billing documentation for services rendered
• Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement programs
• Attend in-services, meetings, and conferences to maintain current knowledge of new techniques

Requirements

You must hold an Allied Health Professional credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). A minimum of 2+ years of recent respiratory therapy experience is required. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) candidates are accepted if registry-eligible with appropriate experience. A maximum of 5 days of request time off (RTO) is allowed during the assignment.

Compensation and Assignment Details
