About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Ochsner Medical Center - Baton Rouge. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026.

Schedule and Responsibilities

  • Day shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility for earlier or later procedures as needed
  • Call divided equally among team members: typically two nights per week and every other weekend, with 30-minute response time required
  • Weekend on-call coverage from close of business Friday through Monday morning department opening
  • May float between Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Cath Lab as unit needs require
  • Block scheduling model with weekend shifts dependent on contract length

Clinical Scope

  • Full-service combo lab serving Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology (EP), and Interventional Radiology
  • Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Perform conscious sedation monitoring and procedure documentation across all three specialty areas
  • Competency required in Cardiac Cath, Peripheral Vascular, EP, and Interventional Radiology procedures
  • Proficiency with all associated equipment: CCL, EP, and IR devices

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in specialty; first-time travelers not accepted
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification (AHA)
  • Compact or Louisiana nursing license upon submission
  • Epic charting system experience
  • Must be located more than 65 miles from facility address

Essential Skills

End-Tidal CO₂ monitoring, Activated Clotting Time (ACT), antiarrhythmic and antihypertensive medication administration, blood product administration, cardioversion, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, emergency medications, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV vasopressor administration, procedural sedation monitoring and administration, radiation and laser safety, sheath removal and monitoring, and all RN skills associated with CCL, EP, and IR.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,982
