Registered Nurse - ER @ MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - ER</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM<br>• 3x12 schedule with every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required<br>• Patient ratio of 4:1 across all shifts<br>• Float within skillset as needed<br>• No on-call requirements<br>• 36 hours of orientation provided<br>• 2 years of ER experience required with travel experience mandatory<br>• Must have worked in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day) within past 8 months<br>• Triage experience required (hard stop)<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS<br>• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms<br>• Cerner EMR experience required<br>• Must have Maryland license or compact license<br>• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions<br>• Care for patients of all age groups from neonates to geriatrics<br>• Skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, phlebotomy, IV management, and triage<br>• Fast-paced environment requiring expert prioritization and organizational skills<br>• 130 daily census with 40 rooms and 40 beds<br>• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This healthcare facility operates a high-volume emergency department serving approximately 130 patients daily across 40 rooms and beds.
