About this role

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Telemetry unit. You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours each, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required. The assignment runs for 91 days, beginning July 21, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,209.94.

Core Requirements

  • Current New York nursing license in hand at submission
  • 1 year of nursing experience
  • Previous charge nurse experience
  • Travel nursing experience
  • Residence more than 75 miles from the facility
  • Epic charting experience (required)
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications (valid NIHSS documentation must be included in your application)

Unit Details

You will provide care on a Med Surg Telemetry unit specializing in post-cardiac intervention patients, including those post-PCI, with pacemakers or AICDs, post-MI, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions. Patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:7 during day shifts and 1:6 during nights. You may float to Med Surg as needed. Scrub attire is any combination of navy and white.

Clinical Responsibilities

Your scope includes cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response and code team participation. You will manage central lines, peripheral lines, PICC lines, and IV access. Additional skills needed are blood product administration, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen administration and portable tanks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care, surgical drain management, wound care and wound vac use, phlebotomy, isolation precautions and PPE protocols, pacemaker care (temporary and permanent), and ortho trauma and total joint replacement support.

Patient Population

You will care for adult and geriatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring and skilled nursing intervention in the acute care setting.
