Job Details:

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients referred to the system, including health and wellness education
• Evaluate physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADLs, coordination, and neurological status
• Implement plans of treatment as indicated by evaluations, including manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercise, and splinting fabrication and modifications
• Prepare and instruct appropriate therapeutic exercise programs and develop home programs
• Document initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment, education, and discharge summaries
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, improve safety and function, and individualized plans of care
• Build and implement plans of care including therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, ADL training, splinting, AAC, and mobility consultations as needed
• Collaborate with other disciplines and healthcare providers for education and treatment planning
• Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations, Work Screens, and Driver's Evaluations if trained
• Identify and follow through on patient safety issues for patients, families, and caregivers
• Position may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
• On-call work may be required
• Graduate of an accredited American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) program required
• Montana Occupational Therapist licensure required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Participation in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire required
• Two years of hospital inpatient/outpatient occupational therapy experience preferred
• Candidate must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
