PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling including every 4th weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights on a 24-bed unit
• Care for cardiac patients including CABG, ICD, pacemaker, and vascular surgical patients
• Manage cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, Dopamine, and others
• Telemetry tech unit monitoring required
• Float across all campuses as needed
• Scrubs: Navy blue solids required
• Minimum 24 months of experience in Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care required
• Experience with ICD and pacemaker patients required
• Experience caring for CABG and vascular surgical patients required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience required
• Cardiac drip and titration experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Equipment experience with Alaris IV pump and wound vac required
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months; no first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license required
• Skills checklist specific to Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required
