Sterile Processing Technician Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work the night shift, 5 days per week, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with holiday rotation and no weekend requirement.

About the Role

You will perform sterile processing duties including sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. Your responsibilities will encompass aseptic technique, high-level disinfection, scope and probe reprocessing, sets and tray assembly, sterilization wrapping procedures, and operation of washers and sterilizers. You will support laparoscopic, robotic, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures across multiple campuses as needed.

• Facility: MUSC Health Charleston
• Shift: 5x8, nights (11:00 PM–7:30 AM), Monday–Friday
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: July 20, 2026
• Weekly pay: $1,324.80
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; guaranteed hours apply
• May float or be permanently assigned to CSC, Main, or West Campus per facility needs

Requirements

• Allied Health Professional credential
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Current CBSPD and/or HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification
• Prior travel experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• BLS not required

Preferred Experience

Case experience in neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and gynecology is preferred.
