Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Day shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week or 26-week contract options available
• October start dates available
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required with obligation to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Self-scheduling model with manager guidance - desired schedule not guaranteed but will be accommodated as best as possible
• Work across all units of the Children's Hospital including NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics
• Must be competent in caring for neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient populations
• Level 4 NICU experience required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Must be competent in the use of the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills required to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic experience required
• Required certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP
• PALS preferred
• ACCS preferred
• Virginia state license required; pending license accepted if obtainable before start date with another active state license
• Must be comfortable with a wide range of respiratory therapy skills including ventilator management, aerosol treatments, intubation assist, arterial blood gas interpretation, tracheostomy care, and neonatal transports
