Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• 13-week assignment duration
• Weekend, holiday, and call requirements
• On-call responsibilities required with 30-minute response time
• Must be graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current New York State RN license required or eligible
• Successful completion and passing grade on final exam mandatory for Operating Room RN position
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum one year medical/surgical experience preferred
• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs
• Must possess thorough knowledge of nursing principles and ability to provide quality patient care
• Ability to assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects
• Must recognize safety issues and implement safe patient lifting techniques
• Function well in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize and delegate
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation for OR/ASU setting required
• Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
• 100-mile radius rule applies
