Radiation Therapist Job in Brownwood, TX

Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts, at a weekly rate of $2,880.

Role Overview

As a Radiation Therapist, you will deliver external beam therapy and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) to patients with complex cancer diagnoses. Your responsibilities include conducting CT simulations, tumor localization, and chart verification. You will operate TrueBeam equipment and utilize CBCT, kV, and mV imaging technologies to ensure precise treatment delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform external beam therapy and IMRT procedures
• Conduct CT simulation and tumor localization
• Operate TrueBeam equipment with CBCT/kV/mV imaging
• Perform stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and respiratory gating techniques
• Assist with intracavity and interstitial brachytherapy administration
• Complete simulation of treatment sites and verification checks
• Support newly initiated high-dose-rate (HDR) procedures for gynecologic, prostate, and skin treatments
• Utilize Varis Vision and ARIA treatment planning systems
• Maintain radiation safety standards and proper use of PPE and isolation precautions
• Participate in patient and family education

Patient Population

You will care for patients with varied diagnoses including prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, kidney cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and testicular cancer.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of radiation therapy experience
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT RT(T) certification
• Active radiation therapy license at time of submission
• Travel experience preferred
• Altera charting system experience preferred but not required
