Special Procedures Technologist in Rockville, MD

Join AHC Shady Grove Medical Center as a Special Procedures Technologist in our Interventional Radiology department. You will work 10-hour day shifts on a 4x10 schedule, managing 8–12 patient cases daily in a fast-paced cath lab and IR environment serving adult and geriatric populations.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform elective diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, right heart catheterizations, and STEMI procedures
• Assist with IABP, pacemaker insertion, and temporary pacemaker placement
• Handle angioplasty, cardiac stent placement, and AICD insertion and programming
• Scrub cases and maintain strict sterile field protocols
• Respond to STEMI call activation within 30 minutes with guaranteed 2-hour callback
• Work on-call approximately 7–10 days per month, including one full weekend per month

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of cath lab experience with demonstrated ability to work in IR (hard requirement)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• ARRT certification and Maryland state license
• CCI RCIS credential
• Neuro intervention experience preferred

What We Offer

• Weekly pay: $3,456
• Assignment duration: 91 days (start date July 6, 2026)
• Scrubs provided by facility
• No floating between units required; however, you may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Access to Cerner and McKesson charting systems
• Orientation includes non-billable training modules averaging 4–6 hours, with annual compliance modules required
