Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• May float between sections on occasion
• Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
• Required certifications: RRT, BLS, VA State License
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, ACCS
• Minimum 4 years of experience required; candidates with 2+ years of experience will be considered
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Strong critical care skills required including mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), intubation assist, extubation, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Experience with bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care and management, nitric oxide, inhaled Flolan, and patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance) required
• Must demonstrate strong communication and critical thinking skills in a multidisciplinary team environment
• VA state license required in-hand at time of submission; candidates may submit with pending license provided a temporary license can be obtained before start date and another state license is held
