Respiratory Therapist Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health Methodist Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026. You will work 4x12 night shifts on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Weekly pay is $2,557.44.

Role Overview

You will provide respiratory care to adult and geriatric patient populations across multiple IU Health facilities, including Methodist, University, Fishers, and Morgan locations. Floating between facilities is 100% required for all travelers on this assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret arterial blood gases and respond to clinical findings
• Manage mechanical ventilation weaning protocols
• Operate BiPAP and CPAP equipment
• Assist with intubation procedures and tracheostomy care
• Deliver high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
• Support emergency department procedures
• Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and equipment issues

Requirements

• Current RRT credential and Indiana respiratory therapist license
• ACLS and BCLS certifications
• NBRC (RRT) certification
• Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience with 18 months in ICU settings (recent)
• Education from CoARC-accredited program with regional accreditation through CHEA
• Current flu vaccine (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• Written confirmation of comfort with every other weekend requirement
• Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Two supervisor references required
