PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends as scheduled
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday schedule approximately every other holiday
• No call or standby requirements
• Float as needed (PRN)
• Patient ratio of 1:3 on 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU)
• Care for post-MI patients with sheath pull, ADHS, postop vascular, GI bleed, and DKA patients
• Required to titrate drips including Nitroglycerin up to 150mcg/kg/min, Neo up to 100mcg/min, and Cardene up to 10mg/hr
• All patients on telemetry with RNs responsible for reading strips
• Work with BiPap and CPAP equipment
• One PCT available per shift
• Charge nurse typically does not take patient assignment under normal circumstances
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Royal blue scrubs required with white, royal blue, or black undershirts
• EPIC charting system
• BSN not required
• 2 shifts cancellation policy per 13-week contract
• Unit-specific orientation provided
