Diagnostic Imaging - Radiologic Technologist

Job Details:

• Perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures
• Review patients' clinical history to ensure appropriate orders are placed and labs are within range, consulting with radiologist as necessary
• Provide patient education related to procedures
• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures
• Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort
• Initiate basic life support when necessary
• Determine radiographic technique and exposure factors following ALARA principles
• Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
• Report and document X-ray and fluoroscopy safety incidents and adverse events per protocol
• Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
• Use radiology information systems including PACS, complete all required records and reports, and submit images and data for physician review and interpretation
• Document all information pertinent to procedures in electronic medical record including medication reconciliation
• Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside
• Assist radiologist in fluoroscopic and special X-ray examinations
• Prepare contrast media and assist in administration
• Provide practical instruction and expert training for radiography students and new technologists
• Adjust and coordinate patient and staff schedules as needed
• Maintain expert level knowledge of electronic medical record, PACS, and imaging equipment
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology required
• ARRT Radiography registration required
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required
