About this role
You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at University of North Carolina Health Care System, providing direct care to critically ill patients who require constant monitoring and skilled intervention.
Your responsibilities include:
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients continuously, recognizing changes in condition and responding promptly
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
- Operate and monitor specialized ICU equipment, ensuring proper function and accurate readings
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient documentation, including vital signs, intake/output, and clinical assessments
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions as needed
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families during critical illness
- Ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining infection control standards
Position Details:
You'll work the night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning June 8, 2026. You'll earn $2,070.36 per week.
You must hold a current RN license valid in North Carolina. Experience in critical care nursing is expected. Your ability to remain calm under pressure, think critically, and communicate effectively with the care team and patients' families will be essential to your success in this role.
