Laboratory - Histology Tech

Job Details:

• Work day shifts Monday through Friday, either 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
• Holiday rotation required
• Occasional weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required - work exclusively on Charleston campus
• 3-5 years full-time histology experience required
• Embedding and microtomy skills required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification by ASCP BOC
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology or related scientific discipline, QIHC
• Scrub color: Wine
• Epic charting system
• Parking cost: $20 one-time payment for parking pass (nights and weekends only)
• Perform routine and complex histologic procedures including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry
• Conduct quality control on completed slides and identify problems that may affect diagnosis
• Record observations from tests and document maintenance of instruments and equipment
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• During hurricane season (June-November), may be assigned to emergency response teams
