NICU RN Job in Brownwood, TX

You will work as a registered nurse in the NICU at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. This is a 91-day travel contract with a start date of May 18, 2026. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Role and Responsibilities

• Care for neonates at 32 weeks and up in a Level II special care nursery
• Support transition of normal newborns and manage transitional respiratory distress, thermoregulation, and glucose control
• Work with specialized equipment including Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Panda Warmer, and Giraffe isolates
• Maintain a patient ratio of 3:1 during nights and weekends
• Chart using the Allscripts system (Altera experience preferred)

Requirements

• Current RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• Level II or III NICU experience ideal
• Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications
• Travel experience preferred

Orientation and Compensation

You will complete 36 hours of orientation (both billable and non-billable components). Two contract options are available: 36 hours or 48 hours per week. Your weekly pay is $2,099.52.

Additional Details

• Two pre-approved time off periods allowed during the contract
• Facility drug screen required upon arrival, including marijuana testing
• You must maintain a 150-mile radius from the facility
