Registered Nurse - Operating Room @ Rochester - Unity Hospital

Job Details:

• Work 10-hour evening shifts primarily from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Must maintain flexibility to work other shifts with advance notice to meet department needs
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Call required
• Float required
• 1:1 patient ratio during days
• Must wear teal scrubs
• 3 years of OR experience required
• Travel experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, CNOR
• Epic charting system experience is a hard requirement
• New York license required in hand to submit
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Experience needed in orthopedic total joint and trauma, neurosurgery, gynecology/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Extensive skills required including general OR procedures, bariatric surgery, vascular procedures, thoracic surgery, ENT procedures, general surgery, gynecological procedures, neurosurgery, orthopedic/spine procedures, plastic surgery, podiatric procedures, and urological procedures
• Must be proficient with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Knowledge of code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, blood product administration, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol procedures, and urinary catheterization required
• 14-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Candidates within 75 miles of facility not accepted
• Background reviewed on case-by-case basis
• Pre-start modules required (up to 5 billable hours)
