Med Surg RN Job in Roanoke, VA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical care at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within each 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday shift required per 13-week contract

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients post-elective back surgery, trauma cases, prostate cancer patients, post-gallbladder procedures, and cellulitis
• Maintain 1:6 patient ratios
• Manage peripheral lines, nasal cannula delivery, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, and isolation precautions
• Participate with Rapid Response and Code teams
• Float within your skillset as needed
• May serve as charge nurse and precept other staff members

Requirements

• Current RN licensure (includes pending licenses from non-compact states; first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Proficiency in Med/Surg patient care and clinical protocols

Compensation and Onboarding

• Weekly pay: $1,890
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Billable modules (2–8.5 hours average) completed during first week
