PCU Registered Nurse Job in Petoskey, MI

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at McLaren Northern Michigan, providing specialized care to cardiac patients. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026.

Your Role:

• Care for patients in the Cardiovascular Unit, which manages over 4,000 cardiology patients annually
• Support patients undergoing procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemaker placement
• Provide post-operative care for approximately 300 open heart surgery patients within 18–24 hours of surgery
• Specialize in congestive heart failure and electrophysiology study care
• Participate in national clinical trials managed by the NISUS research department
• Use clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to health conditions

Schedule & Expectations:

• 3×12 night shifts per week
• Every-other-weekend schedule
• Possible on-call responsibilities
• Willingness to float to similar units required
• Strict 3-strike attendance policy; termination occurs after 3 absences or being more than 20 minutes late

Required Qualifications:

• Current Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• 1+ years of stepdown experience
• Proficiency in cardiac care
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Comfort interpreting EKGs
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application

Compensation:

Weekly pay is $2,488.32.
