Anesthesia Tech - Anesthesia Tech

Job Details:

• Assist in care of patients undergoing anesthesia including equipment preparation and monitor placement
• Ensure cleanliness and availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Set-up medications and supplies as needed
• Communicate continuously with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs and anesthesia technologists
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and central line catheter placement
• Operate cell-saver machine and track lab reports
• Participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases
• Work directly with service-specific faculty Division Chief of designated specialty
• Provide on-call coverage
• Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed
• Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Serve as key resource person for using and maintaining specialized equipment
• Assist Chief Anesthesia Technologist in development and implementation of in-service training programs
• Assist in training staff on anesthesia technologist roles and responsibilities
• Perform anesthesia equipment set-up and troubleshooting including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors
• Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
• Set-up rooms between cases and carts throughout the day
• Provide full service set-up at end of day
• Perform set-up and support of ectopic procedures for anesthesia care
• Provide backup to shift supervisor during absences
• BLS certification required
• Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech required
• Four year college education with technical training preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred
