Description
Opportunity:
Cytotechnologist - Cytotechnologist
Job Details:
• No on-call responsibilities
• No weekend shifts required
• Screen pap smears and non-gynecological slides and report results according to established protocol
• Review patient history in association with screening cytology slides
• Document workload and submit weekly reports for review
• Review discrepant cases with Pathologist to improve quality patient care
• Maintain a False Negative Proportion (FNP) of 1-2% of the lab average not exceeding 5% overall FNP
• Maintain an 80-100% Diagnostic Correlation with the Pathologist
• Maintain gyn statistical analysis rates of 5% as compared to the laboratory's overall rates
• Maintain individual workload limit as set forth by the supervisor/director
• Complete special assignments as designated by the supervisor in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessments throughout various procedure areas
• Must have 2+ years of Cytotechnologist experience (required)
• Experience with ROSE/FNA adequacy assessments highly preferred
• Must be registered as a Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) or registered with an International Accreditation (CT-IAC) (required)
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science related field or a Master's degree in a Science related field if Bachelor's degree is in a non-science related field (required)
• Previous travel experience highly preferred
• Required certification: ASCP
• Skills checklist specific to Cytotechnologist discipline required
• 2 supervisory references from within the last year required
