About this role
URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an X-Ray Technician for weekend shifts in Rochester, NY. This is a 12-hour shift role with an 89-day assignment starting June 15, 2026. You'll earn $2,779.92 weekly.
Schedule
- Friday 10:30 AM to midnight
- Saturday 8:00 AM to midnight
- Sunday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- 36 hours preferred; 40 hours considered
- On-call responsibilities: 2-3 call shifts per month with 30-minute reporting requirement
- Callback and holiday coverage per unit needs
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and review physician orders before procedures
- Position patients appropriately, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility
- Operate x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images per physician orders
- Handle all radiologic equipment safely while maintaining patient dose as low as possible
- Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper image identification
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience
- Recent operating room experience at a Level 1 trauma center
- C-arm/O-arm equipment experience within the past 8 months
- Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- New York State license or ability to obtain prior to start date
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Excellent analytical skills
You must be an Allied Health Professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma center environment.
