Respiratory Therapist Job in Washington, DC

Medstar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026.

Position Details

• Work 4x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call or float responsibilities

Your Role

You will provide comprehensive respiratory services to adult and geriatric patient populations, including ventilator management, high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP support, aerosol treatments, and chest physical therapy. Your clinical responsibilities will encompass adult critical care, ABG interpretation, mechanical ventilation weaning, bronchoscopy assistance, extubation support, and tracheostomy care.

Required Qualifications

• RRT or CRT certification
• DC state respiratory therapy license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• 1 previous travel assignment or 1 month of per-diem experience
• Flu vaccine (no exemptions)

Preferred Equipment Experience

Experience with Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, Evita XL, Viasys Vela, and Maquet U ventilators is preferred. Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record charting is also preferred.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,462.40.
