RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Charge role required for night travelers
• Must work every other weekend
• Must be able to work holidays and work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Call required if put on call for prescheduled shift
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
• 13-26 week contracts accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic experience required
• Must be able to manage insulin and heparin drips
• Required certifications: BCLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI and charge nurse experience
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
• Must attend mandatory unit team meetings on 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM (3rd Wednesday in November/December), with additional Friday meetings at 7:30 AM for night shift
• Assigned to Inclement Weather Team and Storm/Hurricane Team
• Care for adults and geriatrics with general med/surg conditions
• Handle special procedures including wound vac dressing changes, high flow oxygen, and occasional BiPAP with respiratory support
• Use PYXIS, Epic, and SBAR systems
