Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Hilo, HI

You will work as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Hilo Medical Center in Hilo, Hawaii. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting July 27, 2026.

Role Overview

You will scrub for a variety of surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment. Your primary focus will be endoscopy cases in outpatient GI labs, where you will work with 1–2 rooms running simultaneously each day. You will also independently scrub for general, orthopedic, vascular, ophthalmic, urology, ENT, robotic, obstetric, and gynecologic procedures. When needed, you will assist with turnover cleaning and patient transport.

Shift and Schedule

You will work variable shifts between 6:45 AM and 11:15 PM based on department needs. Your base schedule is 40 hours per week, with 32 hours during holiday weeks. You are required to be on-call 24/7, with assignments averaging 1–2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month. Call-back time is 20 minutes. You must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during your contract if you request time off. Day shift orientation will run for up to one week or until your manager determines you are ready.

Requirements and Logistics

• Current Hawaii state license required by your start date
• Minimum 2 years of scrubbing experience in a hospital setting
• Must arrive the Thursday before your official start date for a mandatory Friday employee health appointment
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
